Not only are iced lattes one of the biggest trends right now, but they’re also the quintessential summer drink. They somehow managed to combine a burst of much-needed caffeine with a taste that can only be described as a treat. Plus, with their smoother-than-smooth texture, they’re a great summer alternative for your morning cup of joe.
Iced lattes pack a punch with their strong espresso base that regular iced coffee just doesn’t. They’re also incredibly easy to make with just four ingredients – espresso, milk, ice, and a sweetener – they’re simple and delicious. Unlike iced coffee, iced lattes are richer and creamy because of the higher milk content which also helps to balance the beverage. Best of all, they’re super simple to whip up at home, giving you café-quality sips anytime you want!
Tools of the trade
- A coffee machine
- Your favourite cup/mug
- A straw (if you’re feeling adventurous)
Ingredients
- Double espresso or 110ml of brewed Reviva Signature Ground Coffee
- 140ml of your choice of milk (dairy and non-dairy options are suitable)
- Ice (enough to fill up ⅔ of your cup)
- 2 tsp sweetener, e.g. sugar, honey or a flavoured syrup
Recipe
- Brew up your coffee. If you have a coffee grinder or pod machine, opt for a double shot of espresso using our Reviva Espresso Pods or Whole Beans. If you don’t have an espresso maker, you can make up a pot of our Signature Ground Blend coffee which will taste just as good!
- Leave your espresso or coffee to cool down to room temperature.
- Fill your favourite cup with the ice cubs and pour the cold milk over them but make sure you leave some space for the coffee.
- Once your coffee has cooled, pour it on over the milk and watch it blend perfectly with the milk and ice.
- If you’ve got a sweet tooth, now is the time to add in your sweetener or flavoured syrup, just make sure to stir it in so it’s fully dissolved.
- Stir, sip and sit back to enjoy your homemade iced latte.
